(WASHINGTON, DC) – Today the American Highway Users Alliance commended the selection of Department of Transportation (DOT) Secretary nominee Elaine Chao.
Highway Users President and CEO Greg Cohen stated, “Mrs. Chao’s extensive experience as Secretary of Labor and Deputy Secretary of Transportation makes her an excellent candidate to run the DOT. Her impressive track record shows a spirit of bipartisanship, which will help advance the major reforms and investments promised by the President-elect. We are delighted that Mrs. Chao has been nominated and fully support her confirmation.
“At a time when our nation’s infrastructure faces dire challenges, we welcome a renewed focus on rebuilding the aging roads and bridges that undergird the economy. We are excited to work with the new Administration and look forward to achieving positive results that will reduce traffic congestion, improve road safety and restore America’s once great highway network.”
The American Highway Users Alliance represents motorists, RV enthusiasts, truckers, bus companies, motorcyclists, and a broad cross-section of businesses that depend on safe and efficient highways to transport their families, customers, employees, and products.
