Highway Users Statement on Greenhouse Gas Emissions Rule Repeal

(WASHINGTON, DC) – The American Highway Users Alliance President and CEO Andrew Stasiowski issued the following statement, on the United States Department of Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy’s proposal to repeal the Biden Administration’s Greenhouse Gas Performance Measurement Rule:

“The American Highway Users Alliance is very pleased by Secretary Duffy and President Trump’s prompt decision to repeal the Biden Administration’s Greenhouse Gas Performance Measurement rule.  The Highway Users have opposed this rule every time it has been proposed, and we supported Congress’ decision to reject its inclusion in the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA).  We applaud the decision by Secretary Duffy and President Trump to once again reject this proposal and allow states the freedom to make the infrastructure investments that provide the most benefit to their citizens.  Investing in highways and expanding the capacity of our roadways is a priority of the Highway Users and we applaud the decision to repeal this rule.”
