Supporting FY2023 Appropriations for HighwaysApril 20th, 2022
On April 20th, the Highway Users wrote a letter to the House transportation-housing (THUD) appropriations subcommittee in support of appropriating funds for highways and bridges above levels in the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA). We disagreed with the Administration’s FY 2023 budget proposal insofar as it suggested that transportation funding increases by appropriators over IIJA levels should be limited to programs other than highways.

On February 18th, the Highway Users signed a letter with two dozen industry organizations urging Congressional leadership to oppose S. 3609, the “Gas Prices Relief Act of 2022” and the companion bill the “Gas Prices Relief Act.” The proposals will do little to provide the average citizen relief at the pump but will do lasting damage to a Highway Trust Fund that provides critical revenue for investment in our roadways and bridges.
